Most tasks can be completed flexibly from home, with only one scheduled Sub‑Committee meeting each year.

  • Shared Decision‑Making: Contribute to decisions about new contracts, amendments to terms and conditions, and other employment considerations as needed.
  • Committee Engagement: Attend the annual meeting and work collaboratively with the Chair, Secretary, and fellow members, upholding confidentiality and good governance.
  • Consistency and Good Practice: Help to ensure that employment practices are consistent and in line with current legislation, as well as Methodist guidance and structures.
  • Safer Recruitment: Promote the use of Safer Recruitment principles across all lay employment, helping to ensure safe and caring practices for children, young people and vulnerable adults.

  • Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with District policy.
  • Time commitment is light, including attendance at one scheduled Sub-Committee meeting per year, with periodic additional time required for document review, urgent matters, or delegated decision-making.
  • Participation in relevant training or development sessions.
