COMMUNITY WORKER
MAGDALEN WAY METHODIST CHURCH, GORLESTON

Magdalen Way Methodist Church is excited to invite applications for a Community Worker who will help us nurture a vibrant, diverse, and welcoming local community. We are a church committed to following courageously wherever God leads and to making disciples of Jesus Christ. We’re looking for someone to support the minister and congregation in leading inclusive mission and outreach, building strong community partnerships and encouraging active involvement across the church family. They will also help to shape creative, accessible worship and initiatives that deepen our presence at the heart of the community.
This is a part‑time role of 25 hours per week, with a salary of £15 per hour.

Circuit Operations Officer
Norwich Circuit
£29,120 - £30,940 • 35 hours per week
The Norwich Circuit is seeking a highly organised and reliable Circuit Operations Officer to support the administrative, governance, and operational life of our churches. This is a key role at the heart of the Circuit, helping to ensure that our mission, ministry, and property responsibilities are carried out smoothly and professionally.
Working closely with the Superintendent Minister, Circuit Stewards, Ministers and volunteers, you will provide reliable administrative coordination, maintain essential records, support governance processes, and help ensure effective communication across the Circuit. You will be part of a friendly and dedicated team serving a diverse group of churches across Norwich and the surrounding area.
About the role
The postholder will:
- Provide administrative and organisational support to the Superintendent and Circuit Stewards
- Coordinate Circuit communications and maintain accurate records
- Support governance processes, including property, safeguarding, and compliance documentation
- Assist with agendas, papers, and minutes for Circuit committees
- Liaise with Property Stewards and contractors
- Support routine finance‑related administration
- Contribute to the smooth running of Circuit operations and trustee responsibilities
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong digital literacy, including email and internet use
- Is highly organised, reliable, and able to manage competing priorities
- Can work independently and use initiative
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Can maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Can build positive working relationships with ministers, volunteers, and church officers
- Holds a driving licence and has access to transport, or other means of travelling independently to Circuit locations
- Is supportive of the values and ethos of the Methodist Church
Terms
- Salary: £29,120 - £30,940 per annum, depending on experience
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Annual leave: 5.6 weeks (inclusive of public holidays), based on a 35‑hour week
- DBS: Standard DBS required
- Probation: 3 months

Bowthorpe Road Methodist Church (Norwich Circuit) is looking for a
YOUTH WORKER
Are you passionate about young people’s ministry?
Bowthorpe Road Methodist Church is a local church in the Norwich circuit with both Chinese and English-speaking congregations. We worship every Sunday with two simultaneous services, along with a range of activities throughout the week for people of all ages and interests. We are growing as a church and have reached the point where we would like to invest in our young people through a dedicated youth worker.
We are looking for a committed Christian to join our church family and look after the pastoral care and development of our expanding youth and young adults, alongside the wider church team. The aim is to have an enthusiastic youth worker engage with the young people of the church to help them explore and understand what it means to be a follower of Christ, with a view to prepare them to be lifelong disciples.
Since this is a relatively new role, there is the exciting opportunity to work with the church team to develop and design new initiatives to achieve our aims, along with bringing new life into our existing programmes. There will be a network of volunteers and leadership who will assist and support you in your role, as well as your personal & spiritual development. Training opportunities & networking would be available to help you grow.
Salary: £27,976 pa
Hours: 40 per week
Start date: July 2026
Location: Norwich (on site)
Contract: Permanent position dependent on continued funding

CLEANER REQUIRED
for 1 hour and 15 minutes a week at £20 an hour
to clean the church, hall, vestry, porches, kitchen
and toilets.
