On Sunday 21st October 2018, Haverhill Methodist Church in Suffolk commissioned Charmaine Slade as a Methodist lay Pioneer.
The service included liturgy for the commissioning of a lay pioneer, recently approved by the Faith and Order Committee. It was the first use of this liturgy in the East Anglia District, and possibly in the Methodist Connexion. Charmaine is involved in two pioneering projects. ‘Lantern’ is a worship service for people of all abilities and ‘Open Mind’ will be a Mental Health support group.
